VOTE!
NOVEMBER 8th

What has been the feedback from the voters concerning things they want to see addressed?
Almost everyone I have talked to wants Common Core stopped. They are furious over the transgender bathroom bill the Governor vetoed, which was not overridden by the legislature to ensure the privacy and safety of ALL STUDENTS. People are also tired of paying high taxes and seeing the wasteful spending of their hard earned money. Many citizens were okay with and wanted drug testing for any assistance programs. Parents are concerned with the state's overreach on excessive mandated vaccines.  Parents have the right to be in charge of their children's welfare. This should not be a state decision.

What are the three most important things to you as a candidate?
  • Being honest. I have to look in the mirror every day and want to know I did my best for God and my fellow citizens.
  • To be fiscally responsible. I will watch out for OUR money that others so willingly spend.
  • Success for our state. What are we leaving to our kids? We should be leaving behind a strong, prosperous, debt-free country,

Which piece of legislation that came before the SD Congress in the 2016 session would you have most strongly opposed? Why?
HB1182. The ½ cent sales tax increase. The Legislature put an “emergency clause” on this bill so it could not be referred to the citizens for a vote in order to shut out all of us on deciding if we wanted to pay higher taxes. In addition our rural schools now lost teachers because they were unable to meet the “student-teacher ratio”.

Tell us anything else you think is pertinent but not addressed in the previous questions
  • Regarding referendums, SDCFL took the lead to gather the signatures needed to put the wheel tax on the ballot and gave the citizens the choice, instead of once again just taking what elected officials give us.
  • SD Citizens for Liberty has put on six conferences regarding the “Dangers of Common Core”. I have helped put on five of those conferences. We have flown in experts from Wisconsin, Iowa, Georgia and Massachusetts who are experts in Common Core. I encourage all of you to please get involved with your children or grandchildren’s education. Ask them what they are doing and or learning in classes. Make sure they know math the way we learned and history as we know it.  I want to inform people about all the data mining going on and the loss of privacy we are facing every day. The electronic medical records that they have been doing the last few years is called “Meaningful Use.” These records connect to HHS in Washington, DC. As I stated before, all the private information the state made us take in to renew or obtain a SD Driver’s license was scanned and now is held in a global database in France. Also, please don’t allow your kids to do any surveys in the schools. Yes, another way to find out what is going on in your home.
  • I am a member of CAT (Citizens for Academic Transparency). We watch out for what the Department of Education, school boards, and schools are doing with education. In my opinion, there doesn’t seem to be any local control.
  • I am concerned with the refugees that are coming into our state. No one should be allowed in without first knowing exactly who they are and where they came from. Yes – profile.
  • As an advocate for the Second Amendment and I believe in constitutional carry.
  • I am PRO LIFE. Babies are a gift from God.
  • It is my belief that PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE AND PRAYER SHOULD ALWAYS BE ALLOWED IN SCHOOL. If you choose not to participate, you don’t have to.
  • Without our military and veterans, we would not have the freedoms we enjoy today.
  • I am thankful for all of our military currently serving and our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much for our country!
